Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support financial operations for a construction-focused organization in Firestone, Colorado. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong experience across payables, receivables, billing, and account balancing while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The role will contribute to day-to-day accounting activities, reporting, and document management tied to project-related financial processes. Responsibilities Process vendor payments, review invoice details for accuracy, and assign correct coding before entry into the accounting system. Manage customer invoicing, monitor outstanding balances, and record incoming payments to keep receivables current. Reconcile account activity regularly by researching discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner. Prepare financial and operational reports that support budget tracking and routine accounting review. Enter and maintain accounting data with a high degree of accuracy across billing and payment records. Support permit-related documentation and financial coordination connected to construction projects. Assist with accounting tasks related to construction-to-permanent loan activity and associated project records. Use JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to update transactions, maintain records, and support ongoing accounting functions. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in an accounting support or accounting specialist role. Hands-on background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and account reconciliation. Experience preparing invoices, coding vendor invoices, and performing accurate data entry. Familiarity with accounting processes within the construction or contractor industry. Working knowledge of budget tracking and report preparation. Experience using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or a comparable accounting system. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple financial tasks with accuracy.
