Clinical Therapist
Position Summary:
To provide clinical individual support in guiding and facilitating clients in moving towards health and healing and to uphold the programming aspects of therapeutic and mindfulness programs at Peace by Piece. These programs assist in fostering mental, emotional, and physical well-being through a compassionate and inclusive approach. Ideally this position is for a clinician that is trained in guiding clients to connect to their inner “parts”, foster self-leadership (Self), and integrate body-based awareness (somatic) to support the unburdening process of trauma. Clinicians accept a non-pathologizing approach when working with clients that includes exploration of protective/exiled parts using breathwork, mindfulness, and movement. Clinicians are expected to maintain clinical documentation and ethical standards within a trauma-conscious framework to achieve holistic healing and nervous system regulation. With a focus on therapy and yoga as a transformative tool for healing and connection, Peace by Piece empowers individuals to navigate life’s challenges with mindfulness and resilience. The organization offers accessible, trauma-informed, mental health supported therapy and yoga services designed to support individuals and communities in their journey toward balance and well-being. The programming includes but is not limited to 1:1 individual therapeutic support, therapy support groups, group yoga movement classes, individual 1:1 yoga mentoring, and mindful/heartfulness classes.
Duties:
Facilitatetherapy (trained in IFS, EMDR, play therapy, somatic therapy, and/or PRT) by guiding clients to identify, understand, and build relationship with their “inner world”
Integrate somatic awareness through helping clients notice bodily sensations in a safe and trauma-informed way
Trauma-Informed care in working with clients and providing psycho-education about protective responses, survival energy, internal attachment repair, and promoting nervous system capacity.
Use of a non-pathogizing approach by focusing on “what parts of them need” rather than “what’s wrong with you?”
Provide clinical documentation completed and maintain ethical/legal compliance
Collaborate with other professionals and contribute to a positive, supportive team culture.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Masters Level College degree
Preferred: Licensure
Preferred: At least a 200 Yoga Teacher Training Programming and is dedicated to growing and continual learning
Personal and/or educational experience with various therapeutic and somatic models (Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Trauma Conscious Yoga, Yoga for Anxiety and Depression, etc.)
Required Skills and Abilities:
Committed to self-growth
Knowledge of trauma-informed therapeutic models such as: Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, Play Therapy, ACT, etc. (not expected to be trained in all these models but informed in at least one)
Knowledge of yoga and somatic practices
Strong communicator and ability to convey a message via verbal and written
Compensation and Benefits:
Private pay compensation determined upon level of experience and education
70/30 split of any individual or group sessions
Use of office on any days available- currently Monday, Thursday, Friday
Use of group space as needed
