This role fabricates panels from electrical schematics and work instructions, including component layout, mechanical mounting, wiring/termination, and functional verification. In addition to meeting daily production requirements, the Wiring Technician may assist with basic facility and shop upkeep tasks as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, assemble, and wire control panels using technical drawings, schematics, and work instructionsPerform panel layout, component mounting, and wiring/termination to meet project specificationsProduce high-quality UL508 control panels for commercial and mission-critical applicationsTest completed panels to verify proper function and identify wiring/component issuesTroubleshoot and correct wiring errors, component malfunctions, and build discrepanciesFollow all safety standards and ensure safe work practices throughout the assembly processIdentify and communicate issues or discrepancies with schematics, tools, parts, or equipment to the Panel Shop LeadMonitor stock levels of panel shop consumables and notify the Panel Shop Lead when materials are lowManufacture subassemblies and prepare cut or pre-made materials as required for productionSupport general shop and facility needs, including light maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing lights, moving furniture/equipment)Maintain a clean and safe workspace through daily cleanup and proper disposal of trash and materialsQualifications2+ years of experience in control panel assembly or wiringAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagramsStrong working knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and panel shop best practicesProficiency using common assembly tools, including hand drills, termination screwdrivers, wire cutters, and other hand toolsAbility to troubleshoot independently and resolve issues with minimal supervisionStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environmentStrong time management, organization, and attention to detailCommitment to quality, safety, and workmanship standardsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and work on the shop floor for extended periodsAbility to use hand tools repetitively and safelyAbility to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 lbs (with assistance when needed)Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work in panel enclosures and tight spacesAbility to distinguish wire colors and read printed labels/schematicsWork EnvironmentManufacturing/panel shop environment with exposure to noise, tools, wiring equipment, and electrical componentsUse of PPE may be required depending on task and work areaWork may involve occasional coordination with warehouse or jobsite-related staging activitiesThe Pay Range For This Role Is18 - 24 USD per hour(Irving, TX)
