Control Engineer
Location: Greensboro, NC (On-Site)Salary: $110,000-$135,000 baseNote: Applicants must hold a valid U.S Green Card or U.S PassportPosition SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of industrial automation and control systems. This role is responsible for delivering high-performance, reliable control solutions while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and software teams.The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in PLC/HMI programming, system integration, and industrial networking, along with strong project leadership capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop control systems architecture for industrial equipment and automation systemsProgram and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial roboticsDevelop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and I/O listsLead system integration, testing, and commissioning activities (on-site and remote)Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practicesProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and project scopeSupport proposal development, cost estimation, and technical documentationDiagnose and resolve complex field issues and implement long-term corrective actionsDrive continuous improvement initiatives for system performance and reliabilityRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in industrial controls and automationStrong expertise with PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)Experience with HMI/SCADA developmentProficiency in industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, etc.)Experience with motion control, servo systems, and VFD integrationAbility to read and create electrical schematicsStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsWillingness to travel up to 30% as requiredPreferred QualificationsExperience in Food & Bev or Pharma sectorProject management experienceKey CompetenciesTechnical leadershipStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and documentation skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyDetail-oriented with strong quality focusWhat We OfferCompetitive salaryPerformance-based bonusComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunities
