This evening shift (32 hours/week) role is ideal for a PA who thrives in fast-paced, team-based environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care across urgent and emergent needs. The Physician Assistant functions under the supervision of a physician and plays a key role in evaluating, treating, and educating patients in a collaborative care model.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and gather detailed patient historiesOrder and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, X-rays, and EKGsAdminister therapeutic interventions such as injections, suturing, immunizations, and wound careDevelop individualized patient treatment plans in coordination with the supervising physicianProvide patient and family education on prescribed therapies, post-care instructions, and preventive healthParticipate in pre- and post-operative care activities as neededFacilitate patient discharges, admissions, and transfersAssist with surgical or procedural duties (if applicable)Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentationParticipate in care continuity efforts and follow-up coordinationCollaborate with nursing, specialists, and allied health professionals to optimize care outcomesMinimum Qualifications:Physician Assistant License (California) RequiredGraduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program RequiredPhysician Assistant National Certificate Required at hireBasic Life Support (BLS) RequiredNational Provider Identifier (NPI) Required at hireAdditional Requirements:Fluoroscopy Permit required within 18 months of hire (only if working in Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, or Radiation Oncology)Experience and competency in department-specific procedures may be requiredMust be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environmentPreferred Qualifications:12 years of Physician Assistant experience in an Emergency or Urgent Care settingFamiliarity with clinical workflows in acute or high-volume environmentsRequired Skills & Competencies:Clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoningProficiency in urgent/emergent therapeutic proceduresStrong EMR and documentation capabilitiesEffective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teamsKnowledge of emergency care standards, infection control, and department protocols
