Duties to include scheduling, patient registration, telephone triage, medical records, billing, and collections. Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in/out, cash management and patient appointment scheduling. Receive accurate and update demographic information on all patients to include insurance and authorizations. Set up patient demographics, insurance and case information on computer system. Prepare chart, routing slip and any other information needed for patient visit. Schedule appointments and answer incoming calls. Prepare daily schedules. Answer any question relating to patients account.Up-front collections to patient accounts, collect on outstanding patient balances for MUSCP. Perform end of day procedures. Post all personal and mail in payment to accounts. Answer any questions relating to patients accounts. Make referrals as necessary.Maintain working knowledge of all Managed Care Contracts for MUSCP/MUSCPC to include insurance benefits, preferred hospitals, laboratories and pre authorizations.Medical Records: Create, file, prepare and update all medical records information. Assist office with administrative duties to include typing, contacting insurance companies, researching documents, coping of medical records, mail request for insurance companies, attorneys and any other request. Maintain and follow all correspondence and incoming mail.Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and organizational policies.Other duties as assigned.Additional Job DescriptionEducation and Work Experience: High School diploma or equivalent education required. One year of customer service experience preferred. Must have basic computer skills. Previous healthcare front desk experience preferred. Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize work, provide excellent verbal and written communication, interact tactfully with customers and establish and maintain effective relationships with others.Physical Requirements: Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing 20 lbs (+/-) unassisted. Lift from 36" to overhead 15 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
