Virtualization Engineer (Windows & Linux)

Job Description: As a Virtualization Engineer at Paynuity, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our virtualized environments. You will work closely with our IT and development teams to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems. This role requires a deep understanding of virtualization technologies and hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtualization technologies Manage and optimize Windows and Linux servers within the virtualized infrastructure Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patch management to ensure system security and stability Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency Collaborate with IT and development teams to support application deployment and system integration Develop and maintain documentation for virtualization processes, configurations, and procedures Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our virtualization strategy Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience Proven experience as a Virtualization Engineer or similar role Extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) Strong proficiency in managing both Windows and Linux operating systems Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible) Familiarity with networking concepts and technologies (e.g., VLANs, VPNs, firewalls) Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Strong communication and collaboration skills Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus What We Offer: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment Professional development and certification support Flexible working arrangements, including remote and hybrid options Collaborative and inclusive team culture How to Apply: If you are a motivated and experienced Virtualization Engineer with a strong background in both Windows and Linux, we would love to hear from you!
