STEM for Others is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free, personalized STEM education and mentorship to students from underrepresented communities. Our volunteer mentors work one-on-one with students to build confidence, spark curiosity, and open doors to future opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math.As a Volunteer Mentor, you will:Provide free, personalized STEM tutoring and mentorship to K-12 studentsMeet virtually or in-person with your student(s) on a flexible, recurring basisHelp students with homework, test prep, and STEM projectsServe as a role model and guide for students interested in STEM careersCollaborate with our team to track student progress and goalsWho We're Looking For:College students, graduate students, or professionals with a background or interest in STEMPatient, enthusiastic, and committed to making a differenceComfortable working with youth from diverse backgroundsNo prior teaching experience required — just a passion for STEM and mentorship!Time Commitment:Typically 2-4 hours per weekFlexible scheduling based on your availability and your student's needsOngoing commitment preferred (semester or longer)Why Volunteer with STEM for Others?Make a meaningful impact in a student's life and futureGain teaching, mentorship, and leadership experienceJoin a community of passionate STEM advocatesReceive support and training from our teamSTEM for Others MissionOur education system is at a crossroads where it is not preparing our students to be competitive at the global level. Our mission is to make a concerted effort to provide deeper and more targeted programs that focus on equitable access to STEM education.
