School and Funder Partnerships Lead
Start Date: May 2026Location: LA, Oakland or New Jersey OfficeTeachStart believes that part of the solution to the teacher shortage crisis is unlocking the potential already present in communities right now, but our teaching pathways are broken: complex, expensive and daunting—especially for those with fewer resources.TeachStart offers a guided pathway where Fellows work as substitute teachers, receive training and support, and work toward their required credentials. This earn-and-learn model allows them to earn a sustainable wage now, and be eligible for full-time, lead teaching roles by the end of the year. For schools, the program works because they are already paying for substitute teachers. With TeachStart Fellows, they can fill those same critical gaps at no additional cost. The Fellows gain real experience, become familiar faces in the building, and—unlike other substitutes—become “built from within” hireable teachers by the end of the yearThis year, TeachStart will:train 500 new educatorsfill 62,500 substitute daysimpact over 40,000 students every dayAnd create $14 Million in wage growth for our fellows. The Role:TeachStart is seeking a School and Funder Partnerships Lead to work directly with the Executive Director and Head of Growth to expand our impact by building and growing partnerships with schools, districts charter networks and funders; ensuring strong placements for our TeachStart Fellows.
