Healthcare Job Opportunity Job DescriptionDuties include, but are not limited to, the following:May be required to drive long distances for placement, appointments, visits for the individualsEscorts individuals to appointments, such as doctors' visits, leisure/recreational activities and discharges, as necessaryUtilizes all appropriate security and safety precautions according to established guidelinesProvides basic patient care and works with individuals in a mental health setting to develop daily living skillsCompletes required documentation in patient and unit recordsTakes vital signs as needed and documents accordingly in the Electronic Medical RecordEnsures safety and security of individualsObserves and documents patient data, behavior, and activityPrepares individuals for treatments or examinationsTransports and/or accompanies individuals to treatment unitsMay assist with bathing or activities of daily livingPreferred Skills/QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:High School Diploma or GED and a valid Driver's License from the state in which candidate resides1+ years' direct care experience preferably some experience in Mental HealthMust have a clear MVR record and meet the Policy requirements for operating a State-owned vehicle: must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years driving experience.BenefitsIn addition to a competitive salary & benefits, GA Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is part of a statewide initiative called Total Rewards that seeks to attract and retain employees by supplementing their base pay and benefits with programs designed to improve the quality of their work environment and lead to greater job satisfaction and work/life balance.
