People of color are highly encouraged to apply.Position SummaryThe MTW Front Desk Reception, Hospitality & Safety Manager serves as the first point of contact for youth, staff, volunteers and visitors coming to the MTW Boston location. This role creates a welcoming, safe, and organized environment while supporting daily operations and maintaining safety protocols at More Than Words. The position plays a critical role in upholding the organization's mission to provide a secure, supportive, and positive space for youth development and job training, while also being a key role to maintain safety protocols. The manager reports to the Boston Site Director.Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Front Desk & ReceptionGreet and welcome youth, staff, volunteers and visitors in a friendly, professional mannerAnswer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct guests appropriatelyManage sign-in/sign-out procedures for youth, volunteers, and visitorsCreate name tags for all youth, volunteers and visitorsMaintain accurate attendance and visitor logsHospitality & Customer ServiceCreate a warm, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants and guestsAssist volunteers and guests with general information about programs and servicesSupport events, meetings, and daily activities as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and common areasSafety & SecurityMonitor facility entrances and ensure adherence to safety and access protocolsVerify identification and authorization for youth, volunteers and visitorsEnforce organizational safety policies and emergency proceduresRespond calmly to safety concerns or incidentsCommunicate concerns promptly to supervisor or program leadershipOperational SupportRespond to customer service emails in a timely and professional mannerCoordinate donation logistics, including dispatch, scheduling, and calendar managementAssist with basic marketing and social media tasks, including posting updates and sharing program informationAdministrative SupportPerform basic administrative tasks such as supply ordering, data entry, and scheduling supportDistribute mail, supplies, and messages to staff and program areasQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)21 years of ageMTW Alumni having completed 2 years of MTW graduate career servicesExperience in reception, hospitality, customer service, or youth-serving environments preferredBasic computer skills (email, data entry, scheduling systems)Desired Skills & AttributesWarm, approachable, and culturally responsive demeanorStrong attention to detail and situational awarenessAbility to set boundaries and enforce policies respectfullyReliability, punctuality, and professionalismExperience working with youth, volunteers, or community organizations a plusSchedule: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5PM at our Boston site.
