Position Title: Home Health Aide (HHA)Company: SASTS Quality Home Care, LLCLocation: Ashburn, VAEmployment Type: PRNReports To: SupervisorThe Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care and supportive services to clients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or qualified healthcare professional, in accordance with Virginia state regulations. The HHA supports client independence while ensuring safety, dignity, and quality of care.Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care Services (as allowed under VA regulations)Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toiletingProvide skin care and oral hygieneAssist with mobility, transfers, and ambulationSupport with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)Assist with meal preparation and feedingPerform light housekeeping related to client careAssist with medication reminders (no administration unless authorized)Observation & Reporting (Required by VA)Observe, document, and report changes in the client's condition to the supervisorRecord services provided in accordance with agency and VDH documentation standardsCare Plan ComplianceFollow the individualized plan of care developed by the care teamDo not perform tasks outside the approved care planInfection Control & SafetyFollow infection prevention protocols per VDH standardsUse proper body mechanics and safety proceduresVirginia-Specific QualificationsCompletion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program(or CNA certification if accepted by agency policy)Competency evaluation meeting VDH requirementsCurrent CPR certification (preferred or required by agency)Negative TB screening and health clearanceCriminal background check in compliance with Virginia lawSupervision Requirements (VA Compliance)Must receive periodic supervisory visits (typically every 30–90 days depending on service type)Must participate in competency evaluations and in-service trainingTraining RequirementsCompletion of initial orientation and skills competencyParticipation in ongoing in-service training (minimum annually, per VDH guidelines)Training in:Infection controlPatient rightsEmergency proceduresAbuse/neglect reportingScope of Practice Limitations (IMPORTANT)The HHA may NOT:Administer medications (unless specifically allowed under a licensed program)Perform skilled nursing tasks (e.g., injections, wound care requiring a nurse)Make independent changes to the care planSkills & AbilitiesCompassionate and client-focused careStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to follow directions and care plans preciselyDependable and professional demeanorCompliance & ExpectationsAdhere to all policies set by the Virginia Department of HealthMaintain strict client confidentiality (HIPAA)Report incidents, safety concerns, or suspected abuse immediatelyOptional Additions for Your AgencyPay Rate: $20-$22/hourMileage reimbursement (if applicable)Benefits (PTO, bonuses, training programs)
