Pay: From $46.69 per hourJob description:Job Title: Circular Economy Quality Engineer – 540(Pay Rate: $46.69/hr)Location: Centerline, MI (initial site; potential future move to Canton, MI next year)Work Environment: On-site (no travel expected)Position SummaryCircular Economy Quality Engineer to support quality engineering, supplier performance, and continuous improvement initiatives within Mopar and Circular Economy operations. This role focuses on improving product and process quality across warehousing, depot operations, packaging, and service part return streams.The position partners closely with Engineering, Design Release Engineers (DREs), suppliers, packaging teams, and warehouse/depot operations to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive sustainable improvements. This is a hands-on, onsite role heavily focused on supplier interaction, returns analysis, and operational quality execution.What You'll DoLead and support quality engineering initiatives across product, packaging, and process levelsPartner with Engineering, suppliers, Packaging Operations, and Warehouse/Depot teams to drive quality improvements and implement changesConduct process audits and verify corrective actions for compliance with technical and operational requirementsEnsure proper application of packaging standards, process methods, and warehouse/depot quality specificationsDevelop and improve inspection procedures aligned with Stellantis/FCA quality standardsEvaluate and validate rework procedures to ensure effective containment and prevention of recurrenceRecommend, implement, and verify permanent corrective actions with a cost-effective mindsetCollaborate with Design Release Engineers (DREs) on product improvement and design-related quality updatesSupport supplier quality performance and throughput improvement initiatives through daily engagementAnalyze returned parts from dealerships, PDCs, and field locations to identify failure trends and root causesProcess Non-Conformance Tickets (NCTs) and issue Quality Control Messages (QCMs) as requiredIdentify cost savings opportunities through reduction of rework, scrap, and process inefficienciesDrive continuous improvement across circular economy and service parts quality workflowsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (required) or equivalent relevant experience3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or related manufacturing/supply chain environmentExperience working with warehousing, depot operations, or service parts distribution environmentsExposure to supplier quality management and cross-functional engineering collaborationExperience with process auditing and corrective action verificationStrong ability to interpret quality issues and implement sustainable corrective actionsExcellent communication skills with ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsExperience in automotive service parts, remanufacturing, recycling, or circular economy programsFamiliarity with structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, A3)Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher preferred)Experience with packaging specifications and depot/warehouse quality systemsBackground in returned parts analysis or field quality investigationsKey CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis skillsSupplier performance management and collaborationAttention to detail in quality documentation and complianceCross-functional communication and stakeholder influenceContinuous improvement mindset (Lean-oriented thinking)Ability to manage multiple quality issues simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
