CNC Machinist/Operator - 2nd shift

All training is done on 1st shift. Ask about the hours. job description: Responsible for operating machines within established standards, load, unload and inspect parts during the machining process. Operator will be responsible for the quality of the parts being produced and for achieving production standards. responsibilities: Operates a CNC machine without routine supervision. Performs basic math calculations, including addition and subtraction of decimals. Maintains dimensional tolerances between =/- .0003 and =/- .005 or greater. Interprets basic dimensions on a print. Utilizes precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins and depth micrometers accurately. Loads, unloads and inspects parts while maintaining correct dimensions. Detects equipment malfunctions and/or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine as requirement to insure quality of production. Reports and asks supervisor/lead for assistance with machining problems. Maintains a clean work area and observes all safety procedures. Follows documented operator procedures including, but not limited to inspection check sheets and operator notes. Performs other duties as needed and assigned. requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1-year experience in set-up CNC lathes, multi-axis lathes and 4-axis horizontal milling, vertical milling machines. Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments include, but are not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales. Strong understanding in blue print reading/geometric tolerancing interpretation. Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change. Must possess basic math skills including, but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. CNC programming is a plus.
