The company remains dedicated to discovering and amplifying the ‘next big thing' in music through its record label and artist-management division, Breakaway Projects.THE ROLEWe're looking for a driven, creative, and highly strategic Director of Marketing to lead a growing division of the marketing function at Breakaway. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing and executing campaigns that drive ticket sales across festivals, pop-ups, and concerts, elevate our brand, and deepen our connection with fans nationwide.In this role, you'll own the end-to-end digital and out-of-home marketing strategy, from campaign development and paid media to creative, PR, and executive reporting. You'll partner closely with our organic social, influencer, and artist marketing teams to deliver full-scale campaigns that drive ticket sales and elevate our brand. You'll lead and grow a high-performing team while partnering cross-functionally with ticketing, sponsorship, operations, and artist relations to bring each festival to life. This role requires someone who can think big while staying hands-on, equally comfortable building strategy decks and being in the weeds on briefing and overseeing creative deliverables, executing in a fast-paced festival environment.The ideal candidate brings 7-10 years of marketing experience, preferably within live events, music, or entertainment, along with a proven track record of building campaigns that convert. You're a strong leader who knows how to move quickly, make data-driven decisions, and build teams that deliver at scale.RequirementsREQUIREMENTS:Strategy & CampaignsDevelop and execute integrated, multi-channel marketing strategies, digital, paid social, email, PR, content, media buys, out of home, and partnerships, to drive ticket sales and brand growthOversee national and market-level campaigns for all festivals and branded events, ensuring creative, sponsorship, and ticketing teams are aligned and moving in the same directionAnalyze ticketing data, audience insights, and engagement metrics to continuously optimize campaigns and inform future strategyStay ahead of cultural, digital, and experiential trends to keep Breakaway's marketing fresh, relevant, and ahead of the curveOwn a significant portion of the marketing budget, allocate resources strategically across channels and track ROI to ensure every dollar drives resultsGraphic Design & CreativeDirect the in-house graphic design category, setting the creative bar for all visual output across digital, print, OOH, and on-site experiential formats, across festivals and all other Breakaway properties and verticalsEnsure brand identity, visual language, and messaging remain consistent and compelling across every platform, channel, and marketPartner with creative and artist relations teams to translate lineup announcements, activations, and sponsor integrations into high-impact creativePaid MediaOwn paid media strategy and execution across social (Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Google, etc.), search, display, and programmatic channelsManage agency and vendor relationships; optimize spend allocation to maximize ROAS and ticket sales performanceNegotiate media buys, advertising placements, and cross-promotional dealsPR & Earned MediaOversee all Public Relations initiatives, direct our manager of PR for all earned media efforts, press releases, media outreach, editorial calendar, and journalist relationshipsLeverage existing and new media relationships to drive coverage that amplifies Breakaway's brand nationally and in key marketsTravel to and serve as the on-site lead for all marketing initiatives for select festivals and events in collaboration with other team marketing leadersSupport as on-site marketing lead at festivals, managing media credentialing, press activations, and real-time content opportunitiesLeadership & ReportingBuild, manage, and mentor a high-performing marketing team across graphic design, paid media, PR, and general marketing, fostering accountability, creativity, and collaborationPrepare and present marketing strategy, campaign performance, and audience insights to the CEO, President, and VP on a regular cadencePartner with the sponsorship team to authentically integrate sponsor deliverables into campaigns in ways that add value for fans and partners alikeQUALIFICATIONS:7-10+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally in live events, festivals, or entertainment3+ years of management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (marketing, graphic design, paid media, PR) in a fast-paced environmentProven track record of driving ticket sales and engagement through integrated campaignsDeep expertise in digital marketing, social media, content strategy, email marketing, web marketing, and paid mediaExperience in PR, earned media strategy, and media relations Strong executive presentation skills; comfortable building and delivering polished decks to C-suite and executive leadershipExperience managing large marketing budgets, vendors, media buys, and agency relationshipsStrong leadership, communication, and project management skillsData-driven with strong analytical and reporting capabilitiesComfortable working in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines and peak event seasonsWillingness to travel frequently and work nights/weekends/holidays during the festival periodBonus: Existing relationships with media outlets, agencies, influencers, and partners in the music/live entertainment industry
