Electrical/ Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description:
Determine the cause of mechanical breakdowns on manufacturing equipment and return equipment to proper operating order in minimum time.
Completely assemble or disassemble production lines or support equipment as required for repairs or installations.
Perform electrical troubleshooting on; AC & DC motor drives, distribution panels, solenoids, relays, 12 – 480 volts, PLC and other related devices.
Make all necessary mechanical and basic electrical adjustments to production lines or support equipment to insure proper operation.
Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment and oil, grease, clean, repair, or modify same in performing preventive maintenance routines.
Maintain required maintenance logs, time sheets, blueprints on other documents used in performing maintenance functions.
Communicate with maintenance manager about on-going issues and the ability to provide resolution with proper documentation and root cause analysis.
Work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Complete all required safety work orders and report back to manager upon completion.
Follow all safety guidelines for lockout / tag out set forth by department and plant.
Communicate and work effectively and positively with all co-workers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (AAS in Mechanical/Electrical field preferred).
Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
Must have good theoretical and applied understanding of mechanical and electrical theory, production line control, instrumentation, and the manufacturing process.
Able to read blueprints, specifications and building plans.
Able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
Able to organize time effectively.
Able to work effectively with co-workers in a team environment.
Able to work overtime as required.
Requires attention to detail.
Preferred candidates with food and beverage manufacturing knowledge.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: The employee is required to talk and /or hear as well as regularly stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee may have to sit and use hands, fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee must be able to work in high places, on wet surfaces, inside and outside. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds. Specific version abilities require by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
