The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth within the waste and recycling industry. This role oversees a team of sales representatives, builds strong relationships with commercial, residential and industrial customers, and ensures sales activities align with company goals, pricing strategies, and service capabilities.Key Responsibilities:Sales Leadership & StrategyDevelop and implement sales plans to achieve revenue, margin, and growth targetsLead, coach, and motivate a team of sales representatives to consistently meet or exceed goalsEstablish sales metrics, track performance, and provide regular reporting to senior leadershipBusiness DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new commercial, industrial, and municipal sales opportunitiesManage key accounts and negotiate service agreements, renewals, and pricingCollaborate with operations and customer service to ensure smooth onboarding and retentionMarket & Industry ExpertiseStay informed on waste industry trends, regulations, competitors, and pricing structuresEnsure sales proposals align with operational capabilities, routing efficiency, and compliance requirementsRepresent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunitiesTeam DevelopmentRecruit, train, and onboard new sales team membersConduct regular ride-alongs, performance reviews, and coaching sessionsFoster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer focusCustomer ExperienceResolve escalated customer issues related to service, pricing, or contractsEnsure long-term customer satisfaction and retention through proactive relationship managementQualifications & Experience:RequiredMinimum five years of proven sales experience in the waste industry2+ years of sales management or leadership experienceStrong understanding of waste industry pricing, contracts, and service modelsProven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targetsExcellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skillsPreferredExperience selling commercial and industrial waste servicesKnowledge of routing, hauling, and operational constraintsCRM experience (Salesforce or similar platforms)Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related fieldSkills & CompetenciesLeadership and team developmentStrategic planning and executionCustomer relationship managementContract negotiationData-driven decision-makingCross-functional collaborationWorking Conditions:Monday–Friday, standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work depending on client availability or business needs.Combination of office work and field visits to client sites, including industrial, commercial, and outdoor environments.Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods while meeting with clients or conducting site assessments.Frequent local travel within assigned territory; occasional travel outside the region for training or company meetings may be required.Weather Conditions: May be exposed to various weather conditions while conducting on-site visits.Frequent use of a computer & phoneCompensation & Benefits:$80,000 - $100,000 Salary + BonusMedical, Dental, & Vision InsuranceMatching 401kLong Term & Short Term DisabilityLife InsurancePaid Time OffAs an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer, all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
