With top clients to boast about, Synechron has a global workforce of 16,400+, and has 60 offices in 20 countries within key global markets.Our challengeWe are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect – Generative AI to lead the design, governance, and adoption of Generative AI solutions within a banking and financial services environment. This role will define enterprise GenAI architecture standards while ensuring compliance with regulatory, security, data privacy, and risk management requirements.The ideal candidate will combine deep enterprise architecture expertise with a strong understanding of financial services regulations, complex data landscapes, and the practical application of GenAI to drive efficiency, risk reduction, and customer experience improvements.Additional Information*The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $200k - $240k/year & benefits (see below).The RoleResponsibilitiesDefine and own the enterprise GenAI architecture strategy aligned with banking business priorities and regulatory obligationsDesign secure, scalable, and compliant end-to-end GenAI architectures, including data ingestion, LLMs, vector stores, integrations, and controlsPartner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Security, and Data teams to embed Responsible AI, model risk management (MRM), and governance into all GenAI solutionsIdentify and prioritize high-value GenAI use cases such as client servicing, operations, risk & compliance, fraud detection support, reporting, and developer productivityEstablish reference architectures for RAG-based solutions, prompt management, model evaluation, and auditabilityEnsure GenAI solutions comply with financial regulations (e.g., SR 11-7, data residency, privacy, record retention, audit requirements)Guide teams on cloud-based GenAI platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with appropriate security, encryption, and access controlsEvaluate and recommend GenAI vendors, platforms, and tooling, including third-party risk assessmentsSupport executive and regulator-facing discussions by clearly articulating architecture, controls, and risk mitigationsProvide architectural oversight, design reviews, and mentorship to engineering and architecture teamsRequirements12+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture, with recent hands-on experience in AI/GenAI initiativesStrong understanding of Generative AI technologies: LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, RAG patterns, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning conceptsProven experience working within banking or financial services environmentsSolid background in data architecture, data governance, APIs, and enterprise integration patternsExperience collaborating with Risk, Compliance, Model Risk, and Information Security teamsHands-on experience designing solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), preferably Azure OpenAI in regulated settingsAbility to translate complex regulatory and risk requirements into practical technical architectureStrong communication skills with experience engaging senior leadership and regulatorsPreferred but not requiredExperience with Model Risk Management (MRM) frameworks and regulatory expectations (e.g., SR 11-7)Familiarity with Responsible AI principles, explainability, bias mitigation, and auditabilityExperience implementing GenAI in use cases such as KYC/AML, client onboarding, regulatory reporting, fraud investigation support, and contact centersKnowledge of LLMOps / MLOps tooling in regulated environmentsPrior experience establishing or supporting an AI / GenAI Center of Excellence (CoE) within a bank.We offer:A highly competitive compensation and benefits package.A multinational organization with 60 offices in 20 countries and the possibility to work abroad.10 days of paid annual leave (plus sick leave and national holidays).Maternity & paternity leave plans.A comprehensive insurance plan including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-/short-term disability (plans vary by region).Retirement savings plans.A higher education certification policy.Commuter benefits (varies by region).Extensive training opportunities, focused on skills, substantive knowledge, and personal development.On-demand Udemy for Business for all Synechron employees with free access to more than 5000 curated courses.Coaching opportunities with experienced colleagues from our Financial Innovation Labs (FinLabs) and Center of Excellences (CoE) groups.Cutting edge projects at the world’s leading tier-one banks, financial institutions and insurance firms.A flat and approachable organization.A truly diverse, fun-loving, and global work culture.SYNECHRON’S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STATEMENTDiversity & Inclusion are fundamental to our culture, and Synechron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
