The summer engineering internprogram with LayerZero is designed to provide students with hands-on exposure todaily engineering operations, project management, cross-functional teamwork, andresearch and development.RequirementsPrimary Duties:3D Modeling & CAD DevelopmentCreate and update detailed 3D part models and assemblies for power distribution systems using Siemens Solid Edge. Sheet Metal DesignDesign and refine sheet-metal enclosures, applying proper material thickness, bend allowances, and manufacturing requirements such as punching, forming, and welding. Drafting & Engineering DocumentationProduce accurate 2D technical drawings, including flat patterns, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and assembly documentation to support manufacturing and engineering reviews. Design for Manufacturing (DFM)Work closely with production teams to adjust and optimize mechanical designs for improved manufacturability, reduced cost, and simplified assembly processes. Standardization & CAD ManagementMaintain organized CAD data and follow internal modeling standards to ensure consistency, quality, and efficient revision control across projects.
