The primary role of the Receptionist is to connect with patients on the phone or in person and greet patients and guests in a professional, friendly and hospitable manner. The Receptionist should approach every patient interaction with an upbeat energy and should demonstrate a warm and approachable disposition to each patient. Key responsibilities include interacting with patients daily, scheduling appointments, answering the phone, collecting payments, managing auto-payment plans and authorizations, directing patients to exam rooms, communicating with medical assistants and providers and consistently executing all check-in and checkout protocols. The Receptionist should support each patient in an informative and educational manner while consistently supporting the company’s vision for an ideal patient experience.
Responsibilities
Model company culture, values, standards and best operational practices based on the company’s Clinical Culture Document and Office Culture Document
Support the company’s vision for an ideal patient experience by connecting with patients on a daily basis and making sure each patient visit is comfortable, informative and expedient
Schedule appointments that result in each healthcare provider having a smooth, productive day
Interact and communicate with patients and guests in the reception area during their wait time
Answer telephones in a timely manner and handle all calls with efficiency, thoroughness and finesse
Ensure that all tasks on the front office checklist are completed daily
Post payments to patient accounts in accordance with company policies and manage auto-payment plans and authorizations as necessary
Serve as the subject matter expert regarding clinic management systems
Be efficient with regards to patient check-in, obtaining all necessary consents and promptly notifying medical assistants and providers of each patient’s arrival and any pertinent patient information related to their clinical visit
Be efficient with regards to patient checkout, scheduling next clinical visits, collecting payments and checking that patients’ auto-payments are active and up to date
Ensure all patient messages are returned and resolved in a timely manner
Actively participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings and any other meetings as required
Understand business imperatives and how their role directly impacts metrics
Demonstrate stewardship of the InfiniT brand and make decisions consistent with InfiniT’s brand framework
Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies; address others professionally and respectfully always
Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as state, federal and other regulatory bodies
Execute duties and responsibilities across multiple clinics
Execute other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Ability and willingness to commute between multiple office locations
Access to reliable transportation
Active/valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
High-level computer literacy (comfortable with swiftly navigating computer applications)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Well-spoken with great communication and/or sales skills
Preferred
2-5 years experience as a Receptionist in any medical field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of clinical practices, technology applications and client insurances
