Other arrangements will also be considered based on employee's home location. For all arrangements, occasional travel to the Precise Systems, Inc. headquarters in Lexington Park, MD will be requiredWe are seeking a Purchasing Specialist who supports purchasing activity of high dollar value and complexity with limited direction and oversight.Duties:Source, quote, and order products of high dollar value, volume, and/or complexity in support of Precise and our customers in accordance with Precise Systems procurement policies and proceduresPurchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targetsPerform market research and analyze competitors to determine what products are featured in in various online marketplacesIndependently negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methodsContact suppliers to resolve price, quality, or delivery issues.Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activitiesPrepare and place purchase orders through CostPoint for the purchase of goods and servicesWork with the management team to ensure all deliveries satisfy internal and external customersMonitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliersPrepare reports and updates as and when requiredIdentifies and resolves complex issues and problems on assigned purchasesRequired Education:Bachelors degree from an accredited institution. Additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degreeRequired Experience: At least 4 years of relevant government contracting experience in procurement or purchasingExperience with Deltek CostPoint purchasing software for governmentWorking knowledge and extensive experience working with the FAR, DFARS, commercial and government acquisition processWorking knowledge of business principles in the areas of procurement, finance, and accountingAdvanced interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsProficiency with MS OfficeMotivated self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environmentAttention to detail, problem-solving, and strong time management skillsAbility to handle multiple high visibility critical tasks simultaneouslyDue to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.Precise Systems and its subsidiaries are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace that values and supports the contributions of each individual.
