Lead Project Engineer - Architectural Millwork
Micro-Cap Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing architectural millwork and commercial interiors organization seeking a Lead Project Engineer to lead the engineering execution of complex, high-end commercial projects.Our client is an established commercial millworker known for delivering high-quality architectural millwork and custom interior finishes on large, complex commercial projects. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead technical execution, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a key link between engineering, production, project management, and field operations.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, leading project execution, and working on custom, highly engineered projects from design through installation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead engineering efforts from project kickoff through final installationReview project documents, architectural drawings, and specifications to develop engineering strategies and execution plansCreate and review shop drawings, submittals, field dimensions, and installation documents using AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, and/or MicrovellumServe as the primary engineering contact for project teams, customers, vendors, and field personnelCoordinate closely with project management, production, drafting, and installation teams to ensure seamless project executionResolve design conflicts, field issues, and material compatibility challengesMentor Project Engineers and drafting team members while promoting engineering best practicesMonitor engineering progress, support procurement planning, and help ensure projects remain aligned with schedules and budgetsIdeal Background5+ years of experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, custom fabrication, or commercial interiors engineeringStrong proficiency with AutoCAD and either Cabinet Vision or MicrovellumDeep understanding of millwork construction methods, shop drawings, fabrication, and installation processesExperience leading complex commercial projects and coordinating with cross-functional teamsStrong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsNatural mentor who enjoys developing others while driving project successTravelLimited to no travel required for this role.
