Prepare and file claims, petitions, and other legal documents, and advocate for clients before courts and agenciesLegal Strategy: Develop and implement effective strategies to protect clients’ rights and interests. Conduct legal research, analyze medical records, gather evidence, and negotiate with insurance companies to achieve favorable settlementsClient Communication: Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing updates, explaining legal processes, and advising them on their rights and optionsMedical and Vocational Assessment: Collaborate with medical and vocational experts to evaluate the extent of injuries, their impact on clients’ ability to work, and appropriate compensation levelsCase Management: Organize and maintain case files, track deadlines, coordinate with medical providers and experts, and oversee related legal and administrative tasksEthical Standards: Uphold professional ethics, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable rules and regulationsAt TopDog Law, everyone is expected to think critically, communicate clearly, and take ownership of their work.How This Role Drives The BusinessThis role is critical to our success because it:Maximizes case value through strong case development, sound evaluation, and effective negotiation prior to litigationMoves cases efficiently through the pre-litigation lifecycle, supporting faster resolutions and improved cash flowIdentifies cases that should be escalated to litigation early, enabling better strategy, resource allocation, and outcomesEnhances client satisfaction and trust through proactive communication and consistent follow-throughReduces risk and rework by spotting issues early, making decisive recommendations, and ensuring alignment across teamsSupports scale by holding case managers accountable to performance metrics and ensuring consistent, high-quality work productStrengthens operational efficiency by reinforcing clear workflows between case managers and the medical records team to avoid delays in case developmentYour ability to balance speed, strategy, and quality ensures clients are well-served, teams stay aligned, and the firm continues its rapid, disciplined growth.What Success Looks LikeWithin your first 6–12 months, success in this role looks like:You independently manage a robust pre-litigation caseload, moving matters efficiently from intake through resolution while maintaining high quality and attention to detailYou consistently maximize case value through strong case evaluation, strategic guidance, and effective negotiationYou identify cases that require escalation to litigation and make timely, well-reasoned recommendations to ensure optimal outcomesYou collaborate closely with case managers, holding them accountable to performance metrics by setting clear expectations, reviewing work product, and ensuring deadlines are metYou take ownership of outcomes by maintaining the same level of accountability you expect from your case managersYou review, refine, and approve demand packages prepared by case managers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strong positioning for negotiationYou ensure case managers are effectively coordinating with the medical records team to obtain all necessary records and bills in a timely mannerYou maintain proactive, consistent communication with clients, ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout the processYou identify issues early, make timely recommendations, and help prevent bottlenecksYou build strong cases that, if needed, can be taken into litigation and through trialQualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolActive admission to the California Bar5 - 10 years of experience in Personal Injury lawStrong communication, negotiation, research, and writing skillsAbility to manage a robust case load independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of California laws, regulations, and procedures requiredMust be located in or near the State of CaliforniaStrong communication skills—written and verbalAbility to think critically, prioritize effectively, and execute with speedNice to Have:Active Admission to one or more districts of the California Federal CourtExperience in a fast-growing or high-volume environmentComfort with ambiguity and evolving systemsExperience in legal, professional services, or client-centric organizationsAbout TopDog LawTopDog Law is a nationally scaling, fully integrated, personal injury law firm with strong partner relationships across the country.
