Software Developer, Core Infrastructure Engineer
Overview
In this role you will contribute to secure RoT firmware and related software powering OCI servers. You’ll work with hardware and service teams to develop, test, and improve firmware and management tools while expanding higher-level OCI interaction layers in Java and Python. You will help scale secure provisioning, update, and attestation workflows and support automation and control-plane integrations. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of embedded systems and cloud services, offering meaningful impact on platform security and reliability.

ResponsibilitiesImplement, test, and maintain RoT firmware features and companion softwareDevelop Java- and/or Python-based tooling and integration layers for provisioning, update, validation, diagnostics, and automationContribute to control plane workflows including REST API interactions and client-side validationAnalyze code and tests to improve reliability, maintainability, and securityCollaborate with firmware, hardware, security, service, and lab teamsUse CI/CD, lab equipment, and test automation to validate changes and communicate findings
Key requirementsMaster's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; or Bachelor’s with ~2+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent practical experienceEmbedded systems, firmware, or hardware-adjacent software development experienceProgramming in C or C++ with strong Java and/or Python skillsFamiliarity with Linux development environments, scripting, debugging, and source control workflowsAbility to learn new codebases, diagnose issues, and collaborate across firmware, hardware, and cloud service teamscollaborativeproblem-solvingstrong communicationC or C++JavaPython
