About us Price Transfer, Inc. is the Industry Leader in Centralized Examination Stations. We are strategically located near the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. We have multiple facilities covering over one million square feet in Southern California. Along with CBP Examinations, Price Transfer provides a variety of services including: Remote Filing Examinations, CBP Bonded Warehousing, Container Freight Station (CFS), Transloading, Flipping Services, Local Drayage, Nationwide Transportation and real-time visibility to examination statuses. Our work environment includes: Casual Environment Safe Work Environment The Dispatcher is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily driver assignments, ensuring safe and efficient movement of freight to and from terminals, warehouses, and customer locations. This role carries supervisory authority over a team of drivers, including hiring recommendations, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. The Dispatcher is expected to work a flexible schedule to meet operational demands, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as required. Responsibilities: Driver Oversight & Scheduling: Assign, direct, and monitor daily driver routes to ensure timely deliveries and pickups. Ensure maximum utilization of fleet equipment and personnel resources. Provide strategic dispatch planning and leadership. Monitor driver performance, adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations, and company policies. Operational Management: Oversee preparation of required freight documentation, delegating clerical tasks to support staff. Approve and manage delivery appointments for inbound/outbound containers and coordinate with terminals and customers. Ensure operational alignment with container/equipment utilization policies. Authorize maintenance scheduling and budget allocation for fleet service needs. Compliance & Safety: Enforce DOT, OSHA, and Cal/OSHA compliance standards. Ensure drivers follow company safety rules, including hours-of-service and rest/meal period policies. Partner with HR and Transportation Management on employee relations, coaching, hiring decisions, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Customer & Internal Communication: Act as liaison between drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve delivery, scheduling, or billing issues. Escalate and resolve service-level concerns requiring management intervention. Leadership Responsibilities: Supervise assigned drivers and provide leadership, guidance, and performance feedback. Train and mentor new drivers on dispatch processes, safety protocols, and company standards. Support development of SOPs and process improvements to enhance department efficiency. Exercise discretion and independent judgment on operational policies impacting transportation strategy. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in dispatching, fleet operations, or transportation logistics (port/rail preferred). Prior supervisory or lead experience with drivers strongly preferred. Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and Cal/OSHA regulations. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to make quick operational decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in Spanish required. Proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatching systems. Demonstrated experience in employee supervision, performance management, and exercising independent decision-making authority. Work Schedule & Expectations Exempt, salaried position – flexibility required to meet business needs. Regular schedule includes extended hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Position is not eligible for overtime; employee is expected to manage workload and resources to meet business needs. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Moderate lifting up to 25–30 lbs. as needed. Ability to work in both office and yard environments, including exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
