Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.This position will be located at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park, 148 Taum Sauk Tr. Middle Brook, MO 63656. Candidates will typically work 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. and may be required to work weekends and holidays.Assist the lead maintenance worker with maintenance and repairs on park buildings, water distributions systems, wastewater systems, and park grounds. Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, welding, and mechanical repair.Operate and maintain vehicles, lawn mowers, tractors, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, and park grounds and trails.Assist with monitoring and testing of water and wastewater to ensure compliance with environmental regulationsAssist with the training and supervision of seasonal employes, while ensuring a safe work environment. Assist with stewardship activities such as prescribed burns, invasive species management, and wildfire suppression. Work independently on various tasks with little supervision. Participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays.This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)Preferred Qualifications And Experience/Special Job RequirementsAbility to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license.Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts.
