This is a chance to make a meaningful impact and help shape the financial future of a market leader in the creator economy.ResponsibilitiesStrategically minded and excited to bring your experience to the table to help build a world-class accounting function for SpotterEffective at building and managing high performance teamsHighly adept at performing the month-end close processDemonstrated ability to set and deliver on deadlinesAbility to identify areas for process improvements with the natural drive to implement effective solutionsAbility to assist with technical research and drafting technical accounting memosAlways acting with a high level of discretion and integrityExtremely detailed and process orientedIntellectually curious with the ability to learn quickly to round out areas where you may not have the depth of experienceCollaborative and excited to join the Spotter team!Strategic ResponsibilitiesOwn assigned areas of the financial statement close process, including month-end close and account reconciliationsAssist with developing and documenting accounting policies and processesPerform technical accounting research and propose accounting treatmentDay-to-Day ResponsibilitiesOversee and close the books on a monthly basis, including reviewing and posting accrual and intercompany journal entries and preparing detailed account reconciliationsReview monthly financials and verify accuracy of financial reportingManage accounts payable and accounts receivable and respond to vendor/customer inquiriesPrepare variance analyses on a monthly basis for management reviewSupport the year end audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and resolving auditor inquiriesCollaborate and communicate with other departments to maintain the accounts payable, account receivable, and month-end close processAssist in the development with management on accounting policies, procedures, and implementing controlsResearch technical accounting matters and assist in drafting the organization's accounting positionParticipate in projects and analysis to support management as assignedMinimum RequirementsBS in Finance or Accounting5-7 years of accounting and audit experienceStrong knowledge of US GAAPExperience with the month-end close cycleExperience with ERP systems and related tools for reporting and analysisDriven to go above and beyond to find ways to automate, streamline and improve processesAdvanced Microsoft Excel and system skillsOrganizational skills, attention to detail and accuracySelf-starter with the ability to take initiative, ask questions, detect problems, and provide solutionsAbility to multi-task and efficiently manage time across competing activities/resources and manage projects/processes under tight deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work effective both individually and as a teamPreferred Qualifications2+ years Big 4 public accounting plus private or public company experienceExperience performing technical accounting research and drafting technical memosCPA licenseWhy SpotterMedical insurance covered up to 100%Dental & vision insurance401(k) matchingStock optionsDiscretionary PTOComplimentary gym accessAutonomy and upward mobilityDiverse, equitable, and inclusive culture, where your voice matters.In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Culver City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $125K-$140K salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Spotter's total compensation package for employees.
