Student - DEISA Communications AssistantIN, United States Job DescriptionJob Title: Communications Assistant Department: VP DEISA - Communications Line Manager: Maria Diebolt Contact: mdiebolt@butler.edu Work Schedule: 6-10 hours a week Desired Length of Employment: During academic calendar/ongoing Pay Rate: $10.00 / hour Position OverviewThe DEISA Communications Specialist is looking for an organized student Communications Assistant. The Communications Assistant will help provide support and generate content for the Student Life Instagram and "HEY BU!" student newsletter. The majority of this position's work can be done remotely and on own time. There is no regular physical office hours required. Required Qualifications Undergraduate at Butler University Strong writing and proof-reading skills Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks Attention to detail Good organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with social media & trends (outside of personal use) Canva or other editing software Photography/Videography (phone or camera) Job Responsibilities Gather, edit, and organize content for "HEY BU!" newsletter and Student Life Instagram via Google Docs, Teams, and Canva Connect with student orgs and resource spotlights for "HEY BU!" Collaborate with partners across DEISA and campus for Instagram content Attend on-campus events to gather content (photos, videos, etc.) Tabling event management (1-2 times a year) Stay up to date on trends and communication methods Other ExpectationsRegular check-in's with DEISA Communication Specialist (at least once a week) Some evening and weekend hours may be required or requested. Be a good representative of the Division of DEISA on campus by having a positive and inclusive mindset, and professional manner. Comply with University standards and policies. Learning OutcomesThe Communications Assistant will gain experience with social media and newsletter management and execution. They will obtain skills in organization, collaboration, time management, problem solving, and content creation within a Communications environment.
