Human Resources Assistant
The Human Resources Assistant supports the HR department by performing various administrative tasks and assisting with day-to-day operations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining employee records, assisting in recruiting activity, facilitating communication, and coordinating employee and community engagement events/activities.
Core Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and participating in special projects and initiatives.
Employee Records Management: Upload and file documents in the proper location to maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
Recruitment Assistance: Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, booking travel accommodations, and attending job fairs.
Onboarding and Offboarding: Order and monitor background checks and drug screens. Schedule new hire orientation, prepare onboarding materials, and ensure all employment paperwork is complete, accurate, and filed properly. Support the offboarding process by collecting company property and preparing documents needed for exit interviews.
Employee Relations: Maintain a positive relationship with employees and serve as a point of contact for inquiries. Coordinate employee engagement activities and events.
HR Reporting: Compile data and prepare reports related to HR metrics, such as turnover rates, recruitment statistics, and budget/expenditure.
Position Requirements:
Associate degree in human resources or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Capable of working independently and taking ownership of tasks while maintaining a collaborative team player mindset.
HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and ATS (Applicant Tracking System) experience is a plus, preferably in UKG.
Flexibility and willingness to extend work hours as needed to support off-shift employees or accommodate peak workloads.
