The Waters of Wakarusa - Now Hiring -Cooks for our Assisted Living!The Cook is responsible for preparing food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. This position also prepares food according to our established policies and procedures and as directed by the Head Cook and/or Dietary Supervisor, to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.Prepares and serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearanceReviews menus prior to preparation of foodEnsures that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and proceduresPrepares meals in accordance with planned menusPrepares food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menusInspects special diet trays to ensure that the correct diet is served to the residentCoordinates dietary service with other departments as necessaryWorks with the facility's dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as requiredEnsures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policiesProcesses diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing ServicesServes food in accordance with established portion control proceduresEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or equivalentOne (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary)Our Company provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
