Cat Caregiver

Make a difference in the life of a homeless animal. The right candidate should be committed to the mission, values, goals, and success of Pets Alive. The ideal candidate must love cats and have an eye for detail as well as a passion to make a difference. Pets Alive is home to an average of 80-125 cats who live in a cage-free environment in our cattery. Essential Functions: Daily feeding and care of cats - includes - resident house cats, caged quarantine cats, and two enclosed feral colonies Daily cleaning of rooms in accordance with Pets Alive’s protocols Laundry and dishwashing Monitor cat eating habits; make food adjustments as necessary report any issues to Cat Manager/Medical staff Administer oral and topical medications as well as all other medical-related functions to cats in building as per medical staff Answer volunteer/visitor questions in an informative and positive manner Relate to employees, volunteers, and visitors in a friendly, informative, and professional manner Be attentive to others' needs and willingly assist as required Assist other team members with their work as needed Adoptions- assisting with adopters when needed Required skills and experience: Previous experience working with cats helpful but not necessary Must be able to work weekends and holidays Experience in interacting with the general public and customer service Able and willing to professionally advocate Pets Alive as a representative of the organization to supporters, volunteers, and potential adopters Physical Requirements: Must be able to routinely lift 40 pounds Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with temperatures ranging from below freezing to above 100 degrees Must be able to perform strenuous physical activity on a daily basis, including, but not limited to: climbing up and downstairs, lifting and carrying, reaching, stooping, squatting, cleaning and bending.
