Sterling has strong market presence, a real customer base, and the backing of an organization with resources, systems, and serious growth ambitions.We are looking for a General Manager who can own the business from the ground up. Not a figurehead. Not someone who manages from a desk. Someone who sells, who builds a team, who holds people accountable, and who treats this business like it is theirs because the compensation structure makes it partly theirs.The RoleThis is a ground level leadership role. You will be responsible for sales, team performance, operations, and financial results across both locations. You report directly to the COO of Bluebird Capital and have a direct line to ownership. You will be expected to bring energy, accountability, and a sales first mindset to everything you do.Sales• Actively sell roofing and gutter jobs. This is not optional. The GM at Sterling sells.• Prospect, estimate, and close residential and commercial roofing and gutter projects• Build and maintain relationships with property managers, insurance adjusters, and repeat customers• Develop and grow the contractor and builder referral pipeline• Set and track weekly sales targets for yourself and the team and hold the number accountableOperations• Own day-to-day operations across both the Billings and Greybull locations• Manage scheduling, production, crew deployment, and job completion from estimate to close• Ensure every job is completed on time, on budget, and to the quality standard that earns repeat business and referrals• Maintain job tracking and documentation in AccuLynx across both locations◦ AccuLynx experience or roofing industry experience is required for this role. If you have not used AccuLynx, you need to have run roofing operations in a comparable FSM.• Manage materials procurement, vendor relationships, and supplier credit in coordination with the COO• Coordinate with the local admin on invoicing, payables, payroll calculation, and complianceTeam Leadership• Lead, manage, and hold accountable a team of field crew, sales reps, and support staff across both locations• Recruit, interview, and hire for open roles• Onboard and train new hires on company standards, systems, and expectations• Run weekly L10 meetings with your team using the EOS framework we are implementing across the portfolio• Coach underperforming team members directly and make the hard call when someone is not the right fit• Build a culture where accountability is the standard, not the exceptionFinancial Performance• Own the P&L. Revenue, gross margin, and EBITDA are your numbers.• Monitor job level profitability and catch margin leaks before they become trends• Manage ad spend in coordination with the COO and hold lead generation accountable to a cost-per-lead target• Approve location-level expenses within your authority and flag anything outside it to the COO• Work with the local admin and Senior Accountant to ensure books are current and payroll is submitted on time each cycleGrowth & Reporting• Participate in weekly check-ins with the COO to report on revenue, pipeline, team health, and open issues• Build out the gutter division alongside the roofing core as the business grows• Identify and execute on opportunities to expand market share in the Billings and Greybull markets• Contribute to the overall Bluebird portfolio growth strategy as a senior operator in the networkMust Have• 5 or more years of leadership or management experience in roofing, construction, or a comparable home services trade• Hands on roofing experience. You need to understand the trade, the materials, the estimating process, and the job cycle.• AccuLynx experience or equivalent roofing FSM experience. If you have run roofing operations at scale, you know these tools.• A proven sales track record. You have personally sold roofing or similar projects and can go close a deal today if needed.• Experience managing crews in the field. You know what good looks like on a job site and you hold people to it.• Financial literacy at the business level. You can read a P&L, understand margins, and know when a job is going the wrong direction before it is too late.Strong Plus• Experience managing multiple locations or crews across different geographies• Background in hail or storm damage roofing. The Billings market has a strong storm component.• Prior experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or structured meeting and accountability frameworks• Existing relationships in the Billings construction or insurance adjuster communityThe Person• You are a seller first. The base is competitive. The real upside is in the distribution.Base Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 depending on experienceProfit Distribution: Percentage of distributed profits tied to location performance.
