IT Cybersecurity Specialist

A leading federal agency dedicated to protecting Veteran data and critical information systems is undergoing a significant digital transformation. They are seeking a talented professional to enhance their cybersecurity posture and ensure the privacy and trust of Veterans and their families.The Role Detect and respond to exploits against targeted networks and hosts. Implement and manage specific cybersecurity countermeasures for systems and applications. Conduct security reviews, identify architectural gaps, and develop risk management plans. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve security incidents and ensure vulnerability compliance. Assist in prioritizing and coordinating the protection of critical cyber defense infrastructure. Coordinate with Cyber Defense Analysts to manage updates for security tools like intrusion detection/prevention systems and antivirus.What You'll Need Experience demonstrating strong attention to detail and thoroughness in work. Proven customer service skills, working with diverse stakeholders to address needs and resolve problems. Excellent oral communication skills, including making clear and convincing presentations. Strong problem-solving abilities, identifying issues and generating effective solutions. One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12, planning and implementing network security systems.
