CNC Machinist / Programmer (Multi-Axis)

The company is focused on strengthening and supporting advanced manufacturing in the United States.Key Job Functions:At VetPowered, the CNC Machinist / Programmer is responsible for programming, machining, and delivering complex parts from print through production. This role owns the manufacturing process including CNC programming, tooling strategy, first article validation, and production support. The position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-mix job shop environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Create and refine CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and lathesDevelop efficient machining strategies, toolpaths, and sequence of operationsSelect and optimize feeds, speeds, and cutting parametersValidate programs through simulation, dry runs, and first article inspectionManufacture parts safely, quickly, and profitably that pass inspectionMachine first article parts and support production as requiredMonitor machine performance and adjust programs or offsets as neededDesign and implement workholding and fixturing solutionsSelect cost-effective tooling and continuously improve machining processesCreate setup sheets, tooling lists, and work instructions for repeatabilityBuild complete job packages to support efficient handoff to operatorsInterpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawingsPerform first article inspections and in-process checksTroubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues independentlyMaintain tight tolerances and ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standardsMinimize scrap and rework while improving cycle time and throughputSupport and guide others as needed to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on scheduleMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standardsCommunicate clearly and professionally with team members and leadership; identify issues and provide practical solutionsOther duties as required in support of the department and company goalsQualifications & Work Experience:To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (with or without an accommodation). Overtime applies based on workload and production needs.Pay: The range of pay for this California-based position is $30.00 - $50.00 per hour.The actual compensation offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
