Research Assistant-Term
ResponsibilitiesThe Research Assistant will demonstrate interest in research and/or the relevant subject matter; have experience or familiarity with the Nashville/Davidson County area and Tennessee, research study design, and qualitative data collection methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups, surveys); display strong attention to detail and organization; and commit to data quality and integrity. This position reports directly to the Nashville-based Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator of the project. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: Assist with piloting study enrollment procedures Assist with piloting interviews and trainings Assist with various research tasks related to study recruitment rollout Attend weekly virtual research team meetingsAbout The Work UnitWith a genealogy dating to a one-room Nashville schoolhouse in 1785, Peabody College today is a world-class college of education and human development. HOD focuses on lifespan development through enhancing life-long learning and developing caring and competent learning communities.Supervisory RelationshipsThis position does not have supervisory responsibility.Education And Certifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.Experiences And Skills 1-2 years of experience in social science research is preferred Some experience in health-related work is preferred Ability to communicate in Spanish at a moderate working proficiency level is preferred Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with teams of faculty, students, and community partners across multiple institutions and time zones Flexible attitude and willingness/ability to complete a wide variety of tasks Self-directed and driven; ability to work with minimum supervision Initiative to work proactively between meetings
