We have active dysphagia, neuro, cancer, and cardiac cases.Our therapists work in both inpatient and outpatient setting clinics in excellent facilities, treating a variety of patient diagnoses. Individuals may be assigned permanently, temporarily, or simultaneously to other worksites where modified job descriptions exist. The SLP may provide weekend and evening services to patients as needed.Our inpatient therapists work with a wide variety of patients in the acute care and inpatient rehab settings with the expectation of mentoring and instructing students or less experienced staff members.Position QualificationsEducationMaster’s degree from an SLP program or equivalent is required.ExperienceNone outside of licensure required, however home care, hospice, and/or acute care experience is preferred.Licensure/CertificationsSLP: Speech Language Pathologist licensed by the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology required upon start - OR - a temporary SLP license issued by the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology (SLP-Temp) will be accepted for new hires awaiting permanent license. Permanent license must be obtained within 90 days.BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.Preferred CertificationsCCC: Certificate of Clinical Competency by American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)Speak Out! In addition to standard SLP duties, the SLP2 is competent in performing instrumental assessments of swallowing including both MBS and FEES. The SLP2 is competent to mentor or instruct students or less experienced staff in this clinical assignment (Rehab). The SLP2 will also provide weekend and holiday services to hospital patients on a rotating schedule.
