This role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering thorough patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education within a busy clinical setting.General SummaryThe Office LPN plays a vital role in patient care by assisting providers with procedures, administering medications, and ensuring a safe and efficient environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining excellent customer service.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to clinic policies on patient safety, infection control, and safe handling.Administer medications including oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous as ordered.Assist providers during examinations and procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments.Perform phone triage and act as a liaison between patients and providers.Communicate test results to patients and assist with follow-up calls.Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs and measurements.Manage and update medication lists and patient summaries.Conduct point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching.Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations.Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and reliability in a fast-paced environment.EducationGraduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course are required.ExperiencePrevious nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.Certification and LicenseMust hold a current LPN license valid in the state of practice and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.Mental and Physical RequirementsThis role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, and various movements such as stooping and reaching.Working ConditionsExposure to infectious diseases and occasional challenging interactions with patients may occur. The environment requires adherence to safety protocols to minimize physical discomfort.
