Mid-Level QA Engineer - Web & Mobile Test AutomationHybrid – Charlotte, NC W2 ContractPosition Overview:We are seeking a Mid-Level QA Engineer with strong testing and automation expertise in web and mobile applications. You'll work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and senior QA team members to ensure quality software delivery through automated testing and manual quality assurance practices.Required Skills & Qualifications:Strong manual testing expertise with proven ability to perform regression, smoke, functional end-to-end, integration, exploratory, error handling testing; skilled at identifying edge cases and validating system behavior across Web and/or Mobile platforms (IOS and Android).3-5 years of hands-on test automation experience across web applications (Cypress, JavaScript) and/or mobile platforms (Appium, Python).Experienced with CI/CD and GitLab pipelines, automated deployments, and shift-left testing practices in Agile environment. Proven track record identifying, documenting, and triaging defects throughout the defect management lifecycle.Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively with backend and frontend developers and product owners, self-assign work and actively participate in sprint meetings.Preferred:Experience in the Financial Service industry specifically products associated with money movement such as Zelle, Transfer, Wires and Bill Pay.Experience with application monitoring and observability platforms (Logrocket, Dynatrace).Familiarity with BrowserStack or similar cross-platform testing tools.Experience with qTest or similar test management platforms.Key Responsibilities:Sprint Participation & Planning - Actively participate in all sprint ceremonies (planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives); analyze user stories and acceptance criteria to define testing coverage and estimate testing effort.In-Sprint Test Automation - Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts in parallel with development; implement test automation for new features within the same sprint to enable continuous testing and early defect detection.Requirements Analysis & Collaboration - Partner closely with Product Owners and developers to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and ensure comprehensive test coverage; provide quality-focused input during story refinement and other team meetings.Test Coverage & Quality Assurance - Design and execute comprehensive test coverage across multiple test layers (functional, integration, end-to-end, system down); ensure maximum test coverage for critical business flows while maintaining test suite efficiency and reliability.Defect & Test Management - Identify, document, and triage defects in Jira with detailed description and priority assessment; manage test cases, test scripts, and test execution results in qTest.Release Support & Deployment - Support weekly release cycles by executing regression test suites, validating deployments in LLE and production environments.Disclaimer: Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
