Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.What You Will Do:As a Manufacturing Development Engineer II you'll participate in projects and improvements across the extended value streams by providing technical manufacturing support to a program from the early development phases through transition to production. In this role, you'll leverage your technical knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, product technologies and factory requirements to help to establish and execute the manufacturing plan and influence technical program decisions to support the overall program value stream.Typical Responsibilities will Include:Participation in manufacturing developmentParticipation in Design for Manufacturing activitiesManufacturing process development to ensure factory readiness and improve product producibilityYour main responsibilities will include:Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.Assisting with review of engineering designs and design changes and translating this into manufacturing processesAssisting in translating engineering design requirements into manufacturing processesApplying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designsOther Responsibilities may Include:Providing input on the manufacturing and producibility authority on of assigned hardwareRecommending process and procedural changes to ensure that objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are metAssisting with designing, controlling, and improving the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined teamAssisting in identifying and resolving constraints across the programParticipating in corrective action investigationThis job is posted as ONSITE and is based at Raytheon's Tucson, AZ facility.Qualifications You Must Have:Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.Experience working in manufacturing production.Experience with manufacturing process development or improvementAbility to work on programs requiring special program accessAbility to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.Ability to obtain interim Secret U.S government issued security clearance is required prior to start dateQualifications We Prefer:Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality and schedule constraints through technical engagements along with an innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technologyTechnical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines in a team environmentExperience with technical writing and interpreting and improving technical drawings and communicating technical information to different audiencesExperience with a shop floor management system (i.e. SAP, PRISM, ERP, MRP, or similar manufacturing software)Prefer Bachelor's Degrees in the following areas: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical EngineeringCurrent DoD security clearance (secret)Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
