What started out as a single restaurant with a vision to bring Burmese/Asian cuisine to the world, has quickly turned into a family of restaurants, a non-profit organization, as well as a retail line, and this is just the beginning.Burma Inc is seeking a skilled ASSISTANT MANAGER to help spearhead the operations of one of our Burmese/Southeast Asian restaurants that is nestled in the vibrant island city of Alameda. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years managerial experience in the restaurant industry, with a strong passion for hospitality, food and beverage helping us embody our commitment to pushing culinary boundaries while celebrating the rich tapestry of Southeast Asian cuisine.The ASSISTANT MANAGER is responsible for supporting the General Manager in overseeing the restaurant operations. This includes managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and achieving financial goals. The role requires strong leadership skills and ability to foster a team-oriented high-performance culture.Skills and Qualifications:1-2 years management experience in an upscale restaurant desiredStrong understanding of P&L managementActive Food Handlers, Sexual Harassment and Alcohol Beverage Control (RBS) certificationsAsian cuisine experience is a plusKnowledge of food safety and hygiene regulationsProven ability to train, lead and motivate diverse Front-of-House (FOH) teamExperience with Toast, POS systems, ADP, Opentable, Doordash, UbereatsWorking knowledge of google spreadsheets and docs a plusKnowledge of wine and beverage service a plusResponsibilities:Operations Management:Supervise daily restaurant operations including Front-of-House (FOH) and Back-of-House (BOH) activitiesMonitor adherence to health, safety and food quality standardsEnsure the restaurant is clean, organized and fully operational during shiftsCustomer Service:Model and enforce exceptional customer service practicesAddress and resolve guests' complaints in a professional mannerIdentify opportunities to enhance the guest experienceStaff Leadership:Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring restaurant staffPrepare employee schedules and over shift coverageMonitor staff performance and provide feedback or corrective action when necessaryFinancial Oversight:Assist in managing budges, controlling labor costs and analyzing sales trendsSupport inventory management, ordering and cost control processesCollaborate with General Manager on promotional campaigns and eventsTeam Collaboration:Foster a positive team-oriented work environmentCommunicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers and managementEnsure alignment of team goals with company objectivesCompensation and Benefits:Quarterly and annual performance-based bonusComprehensive benefits package: Health, Dental, Vision and 401KOpportunity to work in a creative and culturally rich culinary environmentDining discounts across family of restaurants and daily staff mealsEqual Employment Opportunities (EEO):Burma Inc provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics and other protected classes.
