We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.Our Business, Your Impact, Our OpportunityWhat you’ll be doing:Handle complex Cyber, Media and Technology claimsProvide coverage, liability and damages analysisAbility to proactively identify exposures and claim trends which may affect the portfolio and provide written assessments to the SompoPro business unitResolve problems and respond to coverage questions for SompoPro underwriting team and senior managementProfessional Lines policy draftingEffectively represent Company interests at client meetings, mediations, external meetings and industry eventsAttend various industry conferences, possibly as a speaker/presenter, publishing on current claim trends and issues and assisting other offices on complex claims.You will be asked to communicate with underwriting and other functional groups within the organizationOther duties as required by managementSome travel as requiredWhat You’ll BringRequired 8-10 years experience as an E & O Claims Counsel at an insurance company in the Cyber/Media/Technology area, and/or in combination with law firm experience handling these types of mattersJuris Doctor RequiredExperience with direct handling of Cyber, Media and Technology claimsProven ability to provide coverage, liability and damages analysis for complex claims Cyber, Media and Technology claimsStrong experience attending mediations and negotiating settlementsProfessional lines policy drafting experienceAbility to establish close working relationship with underwriting, actuarial and legal unitsExcellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Candidates may be asked to provide writing samples.Analytical, decision making and resource management skills with attention to detailStrong commitment to providing superior client serviceStrong negotiating, analytical, written and organizational skillsStrong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and various in-house claims systems –Guidewire, Genius, ImageRight is a plus)Salary Range: $145,000 – $195,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.At Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
