Job Description: The Production Manager is a hands-on, leadership-driven role responsible for overseeing plant operations at the Kankakee facility (Mod Line). This position fosters cross-functional collaboration across Quality, Maintenance, HR, and Logistics, emphasizing Lean/continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence. Pay Range: $125k – $140k per year DOE Shift: Inquire about shift availability Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Provide leadership and coaching to production supervisors and employees to meet all safety, environmental, quality, cost, and service goals. -Partner with the Quality Control Coordinator to ensure finished products meet all customer requirements using continuous improvement and quality systems. -Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment reliability at optimal efficiency and cost. -Support overall reliability strategy, including production employee involvement in TPM. -Collaborate with Shipping and Receiving to optimize the manufacturing schedule and adjust as needed for customer service levels. -Provide leadership to maintain a highly engaged workforce; partner with HR on performance management, organizational change, staffing, and employee development. -Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing concepts such as Kaizen events. -Ensure effective completion of all employee training (quality, safety, process, etc.). -Mentor direct reports and build an accountable, high-performing team. -Ensure plant housekeeping meets company standards and maintain a 5S program. Job Requirements:-Technical four-year degree required. -Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. -Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification a plus. -Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. -Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean practices. -Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. -Proven track record of operational improvement through employee engagement. -Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation). -Strong team-building skills and hands-on problem-solving abilities. -Ability to achieve results independently and within a team environment.
