Experienced Trailer Technician (II & III)Why Work With Us?Competitive Weekly PayOne of the Best Tech Incentive Programs in the IndustryCompetitive Benefits (Affordable Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k + match & more!)Generous PTO and Paid HolidaysEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Stable Company with Growth OpportunitiesSteel-Toed Boot/Shoe Reimbursement + Company Provided UniformsPositive Growing Company CultureTeam-Oriented AtmosphereDay-To-Day Duties:Evaluate and diagnose mechanical & electrical problems.Welding & fabrication of repairs.Examine parts for damage or excessive wear.Repair or replace damaged or worn heavy-duty parts.Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and tools.Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance.Perform preventative maintenance.Other duties as assigned.Key Responsibilities:Advanced Diagnostics and Repairs: Conduct in-depth diagnostics and repairs on a variety of trailer systems including braking, electrical, suspension, and hydraulic systems.Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure trailers are in optimal working condition, including inspections, fluid changes, and component replacements.Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians, offering support on complex repairs and troubleshooting.Quality Assurance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meets company standards and complies with relevant regulations and safety guidelines.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labor hours. Complete and submit work orders and service reports in a timely manner.Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation of trailers.Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs and maintenance performed, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of parts and supplies, requesting orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.Qualifications:5+ years of experience as a trailer technician or in a similar role, with a proven track record of diagnosing and repairing complex trailer systems.5+ years of experience with trailer body welding/fabrication.Completion of a vocational or other post-secondary training program along with all relevant certifications, such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or equivalent, are preferred.Strong understanding of trailer mechanics, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems. Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.Comfortable training and mentoring entry-level Technicians.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.Time management skills.Having your own hand tools is a plus; larger equipment/tools will be supplied by Pace.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift/carry 25lbs frequently.Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs occasionally.Must be able to lift/carry 100lbs during team lifts infrequently.Job Summary:As a Senior Trailer Technician at Pace Transportation Services, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on trailers and related equipment.
