Please refer to Physical Therapist I (#1828) job description.The incumbent in this position is a staff therapist who participates in the evaluation and treatment of patients based upon current principles and practices of Physical Therapy. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Children's Health philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.Responsibilities:Provide direct Physical Therapy evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of function, setting individualized goals and making discharge recommendations in accordance with standards of practice; provide direct PT treatments according to standards of practice, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plan and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions; report on patient progress through appropriate written documentation including evaluation forms, progress notes, education forms; and collaborate with physicians, patients, family and other members of the health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planningCoordinate and prioritize own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities; supervise rehabilitation aides; mentor and instruct PT interns and other students as indicatedDemonstrate proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies; attend and participate in departmental meetings, inservices, rounds and peer reviews; participate in program development as assigned by Team Leader; and participate in continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning for continued professional competencyAbility to meet physical and non-physical demands as outlined in the job descriptionAssume other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and areaThis is a PRN as needed position.How You'll Be Successful:Other information:WORK EXPERIENCE* At least 1 year job related experience PrefEDUCATION* Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Req* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience PrefLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSLicense to practice physical therapy in the State of Texas ReqBasic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Reqeffective 10/31/2023- PPMAB - Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (In-Patient only) 60 Days, ReqJOB PROFILERequires in-depth professional knowledge and practical/applied expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines within the broader professional fieldHas knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; demonstrates awareness of the industry, including regulatory, evolving customer demands, and the factors that differentiate the organization in the marketActs as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirementsA Place Where You BelongWe put our people first.
