Floor Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring types in commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of floor care techniques, including carpet cleaning, buffing, and general custodial duties. The Floor Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all building occupants. Responsibilities Perform routine floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness. Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure high standards of hygiene. Buff and polish hard surface floors to enhance their appearance and longevity. Inspect floors regularly to identify areas needing repair or special attention. Utilize environmentally friendly cleaning products and methods in line with company policies. Collaborate with the environmental services team to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards. Follow safety protocols while operating cleaning equipment and handling chemicals. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly. Qualifications Previous experience in floor care or commercial cleaning preferred. Knowledge of custodial practices and environmental services is a plus. Familiarity with various types of flooring materials and appropriate cleaning methods. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good physical stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
