Purchasing ManagerSafe Harbor ResidentialNashville, TNFull-Time | $90,000 – $125,000 AnnuallySafe Harbor Residential is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to lead pre-construction estimating and procurement efforts across residential development projects.This role will be responsible for ensuring projects are accurately budgeted, competitively bid, well-documented, and strategically procured. The Purchasing Manager will serve as a critical link between pre-construction, project management, field teams, and trade partners to help drive operational efficiency and project success.The ideal candidate combines strong technical construction knowledge with a methodical, systems-driven approach and a high level of precision in execution.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Construction & EstimatingLead estimating and budgeting efforts during pre-construction planning phasesPrepare and manage detailed project estimates, scopes, and bid packagesReview plans, specifications, and construction documents to ensure scope accuracy and completenessIdentify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering recommendations throughout the estimating processAssist in developing and maintaining standardized estimating and purchasing proceduresProcurement & Vendor ManagementSolicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier bidsNegotiate pricing and procurement terms with vendors and trade partnersDevelop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturersEnsure materials and scopes are competitively sourced and aligned with project schedules and budgetsMaintain accurate procurement documentation, contracts, and purchasing recordsOperational CoordinationCollaborate closely with project management, accounting, and field operations teams throughout the project lifecycleTrack committed costs and support budget-to-actual reporting effortsAssist in identifying potential budget overruns, scope gaps, and procurement risks early in the processSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing systems, workflows, and reportingQualifications3+ years of experience in purchasing, estimating, procurement, or construction operations preferredExperience within residential, multifamily, or construction development environments strongly preferredStrong understanding of construction drawings, scopes, specifications, and procurement sequencingExcellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detailAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and vendor relationships simultaneouslyStrong communication and negotiation skillsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary range of $90,000 – $125,000 annually, based on experienceFull-time positionOpportunity to work alongside a growing development and construction team within the Safe Harbor portfolio
