Job Description and Tasks: Ground Mobile Prototype Technical Document Developer
Prepare base reference technical orders, operating instructions, test plans, and procedures to support mechanical and communications equipment with the vehicle as well as its supporting infrastructure on the main operating base (MOB) and alternate operating locations.
Draft field-ready operational documents, i.e. technical orders, operating instructions, and procedures on complex technical system and operational concepts through personal interaction with each system and conversations with product designers, system developers, and (C2)/communications system operators.
Meetings and Conferences: The contractor personnel shall be prepared to attend and report on meetings approved by the Government, in the absence of Government employee availability. The contractor shall not represent USSTRATCOM/J3 or its interests but shall report on appropriate subject information to the government that result from meetings attended or that require an official response. Contractor personnel shall provide assistance in the development, coordination, and implementation of operational management policies and procedures for use of all missile defense and missile warning resources.
Reflect system operations in diagrams, graphs, illustrations, and photographs to augment written technical data.
Revise materials throughout the period of performance to address operator inputs.
Work collaboratively with other technical writers - validate materials throughout the development and validation phases to ensure usability and correctness.
Create paper-based and digital operational documents to include manuals and videos.
Employ interactive technologies to blend texts, graphics, multidimensional images, sound, and video.
Create and implement standardized formats to present content.
Create and sustain a medium to collect and review user feedback to update and improve content.
Conduct research by visiting technical experts at system development, test, evaluation, manufacturing, and operations facilities.
Observe operations and document processes and procedures.
Support the development of training materials.
Job Requirements/Required Skills:
Mandatory - possess excellent problem-solving abilities coupled with keen attention to detail skills; ability to prioritize multiple, simultaneous deadlines
Mandatory – possess a minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience writing, developing, and validating technical orders, operating instructions, test plans, and/or procedures related to the operation of a weapon system and supporting communications system.
Preferred – possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience serving within a fixed or survivable mobile command center environment and operating knowledge of relevant command center communications systems.
