Associate Operator, Production, Process ExpertCelanese is seeking an Associate Operator, Production, Process Expert to join our team at our Clear Lake Manufacturing facility.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the safety of personnel, reliability of equipment and production volumes and efficiencies within his/her assigned area. Continuously monitors and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure that the process and equipment are operated within appropriate limits.Perform all responsibilities as required for each appropriate level in the Operator progression.Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and Company standards as they pertain to the following: Safety, Health, Environmental, ISO 9002 and Housekeeping Standards.Ensure safety of personnel and reliability of the equipment.QualificationsRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:High School diploma or equivalent.0-3+ years of experience with an Associates Degree in Chemical Process Technology OR Minimum 3 years of experience in petrochemical manufacturing facility/refinery/chemical terminalAbility to Multitask and Manage Multiple Simultaneous AssignmentsAbility to Work as a member of a high performance Team & with other work groups such as technical and maintenance personnelExcellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills (Must be fluent in English)Computer Skills proficient in Microsoft Office software: Word, ExcelBasic understanding process chemistry principlesExcellent troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis skillsGood mechanical aptitudeHighly disciplined and organized approach to managing daily tasks; high attention to detailPosition requires working a 12-hour rotating shift (including evenings and weekends and holidays)Work in a hot environment / wearing breathing air as requiredMust be able to work overtime when requiredAbility to serve on the Emergency Response TeamDesirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of: SAP; process, laboratory & mechanical operations; regulatory requirements.Experience in: Celanese Standard Work processes; safe work permits; Utilities Operations, Continuous Process Operations &/or Continuous Process/Operations.Proficient in DCS Operations.Previous experience in: a Maintenance Craft; emergency response.Reading technical drawings (P&Ids).Familiarity with Safety Instrument Systems.Familiarity with Oxygen Handling Standards.
