*Job Description*
We are seeking a *Logistics Coordinator* to support material operations, laboratory services, inventory management, receiving, shipping, and warehouse functions. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
*Responsibilities*
* Collaborate with management and Material Operations & Lab Services personnel to meet operational goals while upholding safety and quality protocols.
* Maintain adherence to internal and external regulatory standards, including Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) regulations.
* Manage and maintain inventory levels for laboratory consumables, reagents, chemicals, and glassware across multiple operational departments.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to meet operational needs, ensuring reagents, equipment, and resources are available for project execution.
* Prevent interruptions to customer processes by minimizing delays related to warehouse operations.
* Follow specific handling, storage, and temperature requirements for materials.
* Ensure incoming materials paperwork is correct and materials are received in good condition.
* Prepare receiving documents.
* Pack materials according to proper shipping conditions and prepare shipping documents.
* Troubleshoot operational errors and support daily operations.
* Follow required safety procedures, use available safety equipment, and participate in safety awareness and training.
* Participate in cross-functional training within Materials Operations departments as required.
* Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives for warehouse functions, equipment, and procedures.
* Respond to customer inquiries via email, phone, and in person.
* Attend departmental meetings as scheduled.
* Serve as a contact between customers and Material Operations & Lab Services staff.
* Adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities across different areas.
* Effectively manage multiple daily tasks and assigned projects.
* Provide routine updates to supervisors and leads regarding progress, status, and departmental issues.
* Participate in projects as needed.
* Demonstrate professionalism and respect when working in a diverse environment.
* Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
* Maintain equipment and work areas for cleanliness.
* Demonstrate proficiency with material handling equipment and relevant computer applications.
* Ensure all work is completed by the end of the day and use time efficiently to maximize productivity.
* Meet timeline commitments and communicate updates as necessary.
* Adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and DOT compliance requirements.
* Maintain punctuality and complete all required training, certifications, and training records on time.
* Train for and demonstrate proficiency in Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operations and safety.
*Qualifications*
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Completion of college-level coursework in biological sciences and/or physical sciences *OR* an AA/AS degree in a related science major.
* No minimum years of experience required.
* Material packing/handling, inventory management, and/or warehousing experience preferred.
* Knowledge of safe chemical handling is helpful.
* LEAN or other Operational Excellence training and experience is a plus.
* Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
* Effective time management and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Self-starter with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and delivering results.
* Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

* Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record required.
* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
* Ability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed.
* Ability to work weekends, off shifts, and overtime as required.
*Contract Details*
* Initial contract length: *4 months*
* Possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
* Contract may be renewed quarterly, with a potential length of service of up to *3 years*.
*Interview Process*
The interview process will be *in person* and will consist of one panel interview with multiple interviewers.
