A school district in Hartford, CT is seeking a full-time School Psychologist to serve as a long-term substitute covering a maternity leave for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This position supports a middle school caseload, serving students in grades 6 through 8. Key responsibilities include:
Conducting psychoeducational evaluations and assessments
Participating in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings
Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to support student needs
Providing counseling and intervention services as appropriate
Maintaining detailed records and reports in accordance with district policies
Qualifications and experience desired:
Valid certification and licensure as a School Psychologist
Experience working with middle school-aged students (grades 6-8)
Strong knowledge of assessment tools and special education laws
Ability to interpret evaluation results and make data-driven recommendations
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Flexibility and reliability to fulfill the contract from start date ASAP for approximately 6 to 8 weeks
Work hours are full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, providing consistent support to the school community during this important leave period.
